We all can be ambassadors of goodwill and have a positive impact with Iraqi children, teachers and parents. If you would like to donate school supplies to Operation Bright Horizons, please bring supplies to the Kingsville Chamber of Commerce, suite 107, and the Navy League will ensure they are delivered to the base chaplains for mailing to Iraq.

OPERATION BRIGHT HORIZONS

Army and Navy Chaplains in Iraq are conducting "Operation Bright Horizons".  This is an effort to help school children in Iraq with basic school supplies.

The Kingsville Navy League purchased $300 worth of school supplies and Kingsville Navy League Board members; Dick Nelson, John Hilburn, and Jeff Lambert, delivered them to the chaplain's office aboard NAS Kingsville.  The base Chaplains have mailed them  to the Army/Navy Chaplains who are conducting "Operation Bright Horizons."

On Friday, 28 January, our Kingsville Navy League financial review committee met with our Treasurer, Linda Hahn, to conduct a financial review of 2003 and 2004.  This committee met in Joe Henkel’s office at Kleberg Bank.  Due to the excellent record keeping of Linda Hahn and the prior preparation of the committee chairman, Phil Kruse, the review was conducted efficiently and in detail.  This committee reported its findings to the Board of Directors at our February meeting.  Thank you to our treasurer for a wonderful job and to this committee for giving of their time and expertise.
