We continue to support the Hahn Scholarship for ROTC students at TAMUK and we also have expanded our outreach to the youth in our community by funding the Sea Cadet Program and supporting our HMK Band in their fund raising activities. Additionally we sponsored Kyle Wilson for a summer camp at the US Naval Academy.
We also supported our men and women serving overseas on Carriers and in Iraq by funding over $2,000 in phone cards and postage for care packages for Operation “Phoenix Care.”
Our ability to fund many of these very worthy causes was primarily due to our excellent “Casino Night” fund raiser in March 2004. This was Harry Anthony’s idea and he guided a hard working group of volunteers through all of the planning that resulted in a very enjoyable and profitable evening. A big THANK YOU is also in order for the members of our community, both business and individual, who supported the fund raiser by sponsoring gaming tables, making donations of items, acted as dealers, etc. We want to especially thank everyone who purchased tickets and joined our civilian and military community in an evening of fun and enjoyment.
The next Casino Night is planned for Saturday, April 2, 2005. Please support this annual fund raiser again this coming year and help our Kingsville Navy League have another productive and fruitful year.
Your Kingsville Navy League Board of Directors wishes each of you Health and Happiness in the New Year and hope that you will consider joining the Navy League as a member and help us continue to support our Youth and our men and women in uniform.
